Pretty-as-a-peach

A flush of colour on the cheeks adds freshness and gives the impression of good health, even if you’re not feeling fantastic. It’s the perfect “lift” after a sleepless night or a post-party, when you might be looking (and feeling) less than perky. I find that peach and coral shade are the most universally fool-proof, irrespective of your skin tone or age and are the perfect partner to lightly bronzed skin and brushed up brows as we move into warmer weather. Here are my favourites.

Clinique Cheek Pop in Peach Pop, £16.50. “I love the name and the packaging has got to be the prettiest around. It’s a great texture too, with a hint of a sheen. A really flattering blusher.”

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks, £19, in Hibiscus. “This is my own personal favourite. It works really well on darker skin tones as it’s intensely pigmented. The creamy texture is so easy to blend.”

Seventeen Cheek Stamp Blush in The Cheek of It, £4.99. “I love the innovative sponge applicator which you literally “press” onto the cheeks to add colour. You do need to use your fingertips or a brush to blend the colour to avoid obvious circles .”

Bourjois Little Round Pot  Rose de Foudre Blush, £7.99. “ This soft, shimmering peach smells like macaroons and transports you back in time.”

Clarins Multi-Blush in Peach, £18. “This is a fabulously lightweight texture that’s great for dry or mature skin. It adds a hint of colour with a subtle sheen.”

Chanel Cream Blush in Presage, £27. ” This creamy texture is perfect for all skin types and is super-easy to blend.”

Benefit Coralista Blusher, £23.50. “An oldie but a goldie! If in doubt, grab this! It’s a fool-proof, failsafe powder blusher than can be built-up gradually.”
