Rubys-Mum

“This is a particularly poignant Mother’s Day for me. It’s almost a week to the day of the 2nd anniversary of my own lovely Mum passing away, and there’s still a mammoth void in my life that only she was capable of filling.  Although I’ve got the most wonderful husband, daughter, brothers, family and friends, all of whom I’m so grateful for, there’s no one quite like my Mum.  That’s why I want to celebrate her life, and the fact that I was really blessed to be her daughter. Everything she brought to my own life and that she taught me, I’m appreciative of – and everything that I do in my life, I still want her to be proud of. On Mother’s Day, I’m thankful to have been a mother. I don’t think it’s necessary to be a biological mother or to have given birth to understand what it’s like to be a “mother”. It’s about mentoring, nurturing and inspiring – something we can all do as women. Happy Mother’s Day.”
