Ruby-hammer

In the first of my regular series “Ruby Relaxes” where I give you insider access to my own “Little Black Book” of therapists, salons, treatments and spas, I’m delighted to introduce Bodywork Therapist, Tinya Yang.

“Don’t expect an ordinary massage when you book in with therapist, Tinya Yang. I first discovered her when I had a shoulder and lower back injury that was work related. She was able to get me back to normal in no time. Since then, I use her threefold: I go to her when I have an injury and to help prevent it re-occurring; when I fly a lot – and when I’m working, I go to her for a preventative measure – or just when I feel if I don’t see her something’s going to happen! She’s known me for some time, so knows my medical history. I’m always recommending her to models and celebrities. She’s not just a one-off stop – she’ll be on your speed dial forever.

Tinya Yang on Therapeutic Bodywork

“The approach of the Clinic Therapeutic Bodywork, which is what I practice, is to integrate different modalities together to allow each treatment to be tailored uniquely to individual needs and requirements. This form of bodywork utilises massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, movement therapy and joint mobilisations.
The approach to treatment can help clients address structural pains, soft tissue injuries, both post-trauma and post-surgery and chronic health conditions whilst also restoring balance, vitality, and total healing when possible. I’ve been working with Ruby since June 2003. I check her emotional state, posture and nutritional state, as well as her recent activities to develop a truly holistic view prior to starting the bodywork. The main aim of the treatment is to detox the excessive acidity in the body then rebalance, rebuild and restore the vitality. Sometimes she has over used her arms and fatigued muscles which cause injuries, such as Rotator Cuff injury. This is down to the intensity and nature or her work. It often requires her to be very brave as I have to work deeply so it can be uncomfortable.

Ruby forward plans appointments to ensure that she has my support to restore strength, prevent injury, and reduce fatigue. It’s really crucial that we can prevent problems when she’s busy on intensive photo shoots or on film sets. If prevention is not possible, then management is the next best thing before a busy work period.
