Ruby-Hammer-and-Malala-YousafzaiI was honoured to be asked to do the make-up for 16 year old Pakistani schoolgirl and education activist, Malala Yousafzai for the cover of her forthcoming book. The adaptation of her best-selling book “I am Malala” is aimed at young readers and will be published later this year. This amazing young woman has already been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, and this weekend, she’s heading up the Women of the World Festival in London. A celebration that ties in with International Women’s Day, Malala will be making her keynote speech at 10 am at The South Bank Centre on the 8th March. An amazing role model for young women across the globe, Malala doesn’t usually wear make-up, but was delighted with the natural look that I created for her. If you want to see her speak, tickets are available from wow.southbankcentre.co.uk/events. I’ll be featuring her charity, The Malala Fund, in Ruby Supports in the near future, so keep an eye out for more on Malala.
